Commercial Projects

Doctor Solar has constructed some of the earliest commercial solar installations in Nova Scotia. Now we are active in PEI and New Brunswick with several Megawatts of projects completed. We are pleased to monitor their production and provide owners with service and support over the long life of their systems.

Zero Carbon Warehouse Wilkinson Ave. Dartmouth

Not for the new solar contractor out there. These tilt up insulated walls are very special and attaching solar while preserving thermal bridging.

NSCC Ivany Campus - Dartmouth

We prefabricated this array and craned ot onto the roof to avoid winter welding of this custom installation.

Monastery Lane - Halifax - Killam Apartment REIT

This was the first commercial system rebated for solar PV in Nova Scotia by Efficiency NS. It is the first of Killam's growing fleet of PV nationally.

NSCC COGS - Lawrencetown

A ground mount array to go along with the newly renovated campus.

Williamswood Fire Station - Halifax Regional Municipality

A ballasted system facing perfectly south. Shouldn't all fire stations have some solar? Maybe we can add some to the pretty red roof some day.

Canadian Border Services Building - Halifax Bayers Lake

A ballasted solar array from 2019 that helps power the new home of CBSA. The building is owned by BANC Group based in Halifax, NS.

Bedford Institute - Vansteenburg building 53 Hydronic Panels

We completed this system in 2019 as the 3rd of three buildings, two solar PV and this hydronic. Doctor Solar was able to eliminate all roof penetrations from the project. Provides domestic hot water and supplemental heat all year.

Kimble Fire Station - Fredericton NB

This system was the completed during the begining of the pandemic in 2020 in collaboration with GJ Cahill of Saint John, NB.
